Luthian of Oakelm

Young man who is being trained by his father to become what most people would consider an abomination: a mage, able to use the power in blood to change the world around him. Luthian knows it will be a dangerous and difficult path, full of people who will kill him if they find out what he is. But he also knows it's something he has to do. And so, as Dawn Rising begins, Luthian is preparing to take the final step and cut out his birthstone.

He has promised never to use anyone's blood but his own. He has no idea quite how much depends on that promise.
