Oriana Bluepeace

Highest Lady of the Sapphire, destined to rule the Stone Citadel after her father. Oriana's life changed for the worse when her mother died in what appeared to be a tragic accident. Since then, she has been lonely and isolated, finding consolation only in her mother's old herbals and her own daydreams of romance and adventure. Dawn Rising begins shortly before her eighteenth nameday, when she is due to marry Ifor Darklight – the man she thought she loved, right up until the moment he told her it was he who killed her mother. Oriana knows she too will face death as soon as Ifor has secured his hold on the Sapphire. She thinks no-one can help her – but there's one person who can.
